Essentials for summer traveling

Essentials for summer traveling

Are you and your family taking a trip this year? What about with your best furry friend? Traveling with your dog is such a fun way to spend time together, but it can also be a little daunting trying to figure out what to bring. Here are a few essentials we recommend!

Food

Seems like an obvious thing to bring, but it's important to bring the food that they regularly eat. This is one of the easiest ways to keep them healthy and keep their stomach's happy. Don't forget their food bowl too!

First Aid

Be prepared for an emergency, especially if you aren't able to get to an vet right away.

Water

You can bring an on-the-go water bowl, or just pack up their regular water bowl. You want to make sure they have access to fresh water so you may need to stop regularly to give your dog some water.

Calming supplement

Does your dog struggle with travel anxiety? With most pets, it is likely that they struggle with anxiety while traveling or going new places in general. Unfamiliar places, smells, and routine can be a scary thing for pets. If your dog experiences travel anxiety, you want to find something easy that works so that you can both travel comfortably and peacefully. More dog owners are turning to a more natural solution, CBD for dogs

Collar, leash & tags

There are so many new smells and places to explore in a new place, so it's probably best to keep your dog on leash to avoid any problems.  It’s also important to make sure your dog has their tags on with your name and phone number in case of emergency.

Dog bed

Your dog's like to smell something familiar, so bringing their bed will help give your dog feel more at home and give them the structure they need so they don’t make a home out of your friend’s furniture or on your crisp new hotel sheets (unless you want them up there, of course).

Toys and treats

Reward your dog for good behavior with some treats when they comewhen you call for them, or it might just to encourage them to relax in the car with something delicious. Don’t forget the toys, either – it’s easy for your dog to get bored. You can also bring along their favorite chew for these occasions, which can help work out some nerves or energy when they’re in a new place.

With these essentials, you and your dog are sure to have a fun filled trip with less stress!
